The question isn’t, "What's wrong with you?"
It’s, "What happened to you?”
Understand the source of your problems.
Shift your relationship with your emotions.
Get back in touch with your body.
Attachment injuries in childhood become chronic anxiety in adulthood.
Parentified children become perfectionist adults.
Emotionally neglected children spend their lives afraid of relationships.
If any of this is sounding familiar to you, I want to help. I can support you in getting to the core of your attachment wounds, so that you can finally release anxiety, and form healthier relationships with yourself and others.
I’m Katherine.
I’m a New York City somatic therapist. I provide therapy for child abuse and childhood emotional neglect. If you experienced physical or emotional abuse when you were a kid, or you were the parentified child of an emotionally immature parent, I’m here to help you heal those wounds.
What is somatic therapy?
Somatic therapy works by focusing on the feelings and sensations of the body. It can be done sitting still, or sometimes involves gentle, simple movements. Either way, somatic therapy helps you better understand yourself, develop a healthier relationship with your emotions, and release old burdens that you have been carrying.
Too often in therapy we spend time just telling stories without creating any fundamental change within ourselves. It’s not enough to tell the story. We must attend to what the body is feeling. Only when we attend to what the body is feeling can we bring to light the unconscious beliefs, move through the grief that has been stuck for so long, and release what no longer serves us.

“Katherine has helped me see all parts of myself and sat with me in sessions while I explored heavy topics such as grief, and pain. She has a calming presence and pays close attention to how her client responds to meditation and breath work. She is an exceptional trauma therapist. I would highly recommend her services.”
